The Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) reiterated this Tuesday their firm support for the actions promoted by the Acting President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, aimed at promoting reconciliation, national unity, economic recovery, and the strengthening of the democratic system.
The statement was made by the Minister of People’s Power for Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, through his official channel on Telegram:
“With the wounds still open, the FANB supports the effort that the Head of State is making to promote reconciliation, national unity, economic recovery, and the strengthening of the democratic system,” said the strategic operational commander.
In his message, the high-official framed these actions within the Bolivarian Diplomacy of Peace, affirming that this approach “seeks the necessary actions to achieve the return of the President and the First Lady of the Republic.”
Minister Padrino López took the opportunity to recall that this February 3rd marks one month since the kidnapping by the United States of President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores. In light of this situation, he reaffirmed the armed forces’ loyalty to the Constitution.
“The military body supports Rodríguez’s efforts to achieve the return of the National Leader and Flores,” he asserted.
The Minister for Defense was also emphatic in ruling out that any decisions that have been made may compromise the sovereignty of the country: “No decision has been made to the detriment of sovereignty, nor to hinder the National Independence, which, as the Father Liberator Simón Bolívar conceived it, is and will always be the sine qua non condition for Venezuela’s relations with the world.”
He concluded his message by calling for an understanding of the historical moment: “I hope that all actors in national life may know how to read the historical moment that the Nation is experiencing.”
