The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicol\u00e1s Maduro Moros, paid a heartfelt tribute to the revolutionary leader Dar\u00edo Vivas, who died last Thursday after being diagnosed with COVID-19 infection.<\/p>\n
From the Bol\u00edvar Square in Caracas, the Head of State, in the company of the first combatant woman, Cilia Flores de Maduro; the Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodr\u00edguez; members of the Bolivarian Government and relatives, bid the last farewell to the man who served as Head of Government of the Capital District.<\/p>\n
During the event, a military parade was carried out and 13 salvos were fired in his memory, by the 31st Mechanized Infantry Brigade G \/ B Lucas Carvajal.<\/p>\n
Earlier, the national president recognized the work and dedication of Vivas, during a work journey in the health area:<\/p>\n
\u201cHe never stayed behind. He was a very effective man in his work, an example of will, honesty, revolutionary spirit and absolute loyalty\u00bb, he pointed out.<\/p>\n
The revolutionary leader joined the ranks of the 5th Republic Movement (MVR) where he served as director of Tours and Events. Since 2006, he has been at the forefront of the political struggle from the PSUV.<\/p>\n
He was a deputy of the National Assembly (AN) for two consecutive periods, there he served as first vice president (2010-2011 and 2013-2015), as well as vice president of the World Inter-Parliamentary Union in 2015.<\/p>\n
In 2017 he became part of the National Constituent Assembly (ANC) where he remained until last January, when the President of the Republic, Nicol\u00e1s Maduro, appointed him as head of the Capital District Government to replace Carolina Cestari.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
