Delcy Rodríguez arrived in China to strengthen bilateral ties

Venezuelan Executive Vice President Delcy Rodríguez arrived in the People’s Republic of China this Wednesday to complete an important work agenda and review the cooperation map between the two nations.

The senior Venezuelan official arrived at Beijing International Airport, where she was welcomed by a delegation from President Xi Jinping’s government from the Department for Latin America and the Caribbean of the Chinese Foreign Ministry and the Ambassador of Venezuela, Remigio Ceballos:

«President Nicolás Maduro has sent us with very concrete proposals adapted to the new times and challenges of the global economy, where complementarity will guide our international relations to build a common destiny of peace and cooperation,» stated the Vice President.

This visit is another step in consolidating the strategic partnership with the Asian giant and aims to strengthen the work agenda that will further strengthen joint policies between the two countries.

It also seeks to promote trade with new advances in various fields for the comprehensive growth of their peoples, especially in a context fraught with global threats and challenges.

Furthermore, China is Venezuela’s main trading partner, which underscores the importance of this new working visit, where the cooperation framework, which includes more than 600 bilateral agreements, is expected to be discussed.

Last May, the governments of China and Venezuela reaffirmed agreements for shared development for the benefit of both peoples.

Rodríguez and the Chinese International Trade Representative, Wang Shouwen, signed an Agreement on the Reciprocal Promotion and Protection of Investments.
