The Acting President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez Gómez, led a work meeting of the Mining and Basic Industries Motor at Miraflores Palace. The meeting was attended by the Sectoral Vice President for Economy, Calixto Ortega, and Ministers Héctor Silva, Juan Escalona, and Miguel Ángel Pérez Pirela.

During the meeting, the Acting President outlined strategies to increase national production of strategic minerals: «There is expected an increase in the production of gold, iron, bauxite, and other strategic minerals for industrial development”, stated Rodríguez, forecasting a 2026 of industrial expansion for the country.

Rodríguez detailed specific targets: is expected a 30% increase in gold production, driven by the new Organic Law of Mining, which will facilitate international investment. For iron, after reaching record export levels at the end of 2025, the goal is a 50% growth this year.

The Acting President emphasized that this productive drive has a dual objective: To strengthen Venezuela’s industrial development and generate foreign currency for the national economy. Mining is thus consolidating itself as a fundamental pillar for the country’s economic recovery.

In other stream of ideas, Rodríguez reminded the recently announced creation of two Sovereign Funds. The first fund will be dedicated to social protection, addressing workers’ incomes and programs for health, food, education, and housing.

The second Sovereign Fund will be specifically allocated to public services and national infrastructure. Its resources will be directed to strengthening basic services such as water, gas, electricity, and roads throughout the entire Venezuelan territory.

The Acting President guaranteed transparency in the management of these funds and highlighted the alliance between the Bolivarian Government and the private sector. She stressed that a bigger production translates into better services, quality education, and more opportunities for the new generations of Venezuelans.
